Metro Retro is a group of professional musicians who play standards and original compositions with a distinct personality. Metro Retro is unique in its breadth and scope. Our ensemble can range in size from 3 to 6 musicians, depending upon the venue and the occasion. Our play list includes all the standards, popular music from each decade since the 20s, swing, smooth jazz, "society" rock and funk, ballads, and blues. We bring creativity to each performance, and we are versatile. For example, we can structure performances to play appropriate background music for corporate and social gatherings of all types, or we can develop a theme repertoire for celebrations like private parties and dances. We are also allied with a consulting firm that works with company management in training sessions or general meetings to demonstrate the principles of decision-making, team building, and general management, using a jazz ensemble as a model.
